Desktop Avatar Task Tracker

My procrastination in digital form..

This is a project that I did to help be stay motivated to continue my other much larger project. It started as just a quick task timer, then evolved into a music player, then I thought what if I gave it a little more flavor.. Grabbed so amazing pixel art that was perfect for the little room/s I wanted to make and BAM a Desktop PNG room is born.

The Desktop Avatar Task Tracker aka D.A.T.T. sits over your screen, and allows you to track how long you are staying focused. It is mostly a utility tool for people that work on their computers a lot and less an actual game. The gamification comes in with adding things to your room, to add an item to your room you must be focused for 10mins, 30mins if its an animated item.

The controls are bare minimum:
Click - buttons with your clicker 
Right click - drags the avatar around

Left click - teleports the avatar to the click (if you click a certain items the pose can change)

R - will mirror the item ( if there is a small 'r' by the item in the shop it means it has multiple perspectives)

Edit and Delete modes use right click

• track how many days you've remained steadfast in your pursuit of glory
• play music on saved on your computer
• customize your room and avatar
• show cool little room 

The project was suppose to be a nice month to two month break from my game, it turned into three months because it just kinda grew. It's something that I will now use to complete my game hopefully :) . Maybe it will help someone else stay focused with what ever they are working on.

Full Disclaimer: I will say the Avatar and all code around it is 100% made with AI. I found an amazing asset pack here on Itch for the furniture and tiles that I'll link at the bottom but I couldn't find one that meshed with this look for the avatar so I tried to generate one because I am not an artist, checked out fiver too and realized I'm broke so AI was all that was left. I did add in the setting the ability to not even have an avatar, and just have a nice little room. (you can also decrease the size of the room while in focus mode or turn it off so its just the focus timer).
